At K.D. Medical College-Hospital and Research Center, a prominent medical center in Braj, Chandravati, an elderly woman who had given up hope for survival, found a new lease on life. Renowned cancer and transplant surgeon Dr. Mayank Mathur and his team gave Chandravati, wife of Hari, a resident of Ganeshra, Mathura, a new lease on life by removing tumors from her ovaries, uterus, and lower abdomen. This complex surgery took approximately 10 hours. Following the surgery, the elderly woman’s health improved and she was discharged.

According to reports, Chandravati, a resident of Ganeshra, Mathura, had been suffering from unbearable abdominal pain, loss of appetite, belching, and nausea for nearly a month. She was also steadily losing weight. Seeing her critical condition, her family brought her to KD Hospital on April 15th and consulted with specialist cancer and transplant surgeon Dr. Mayank Mathur. Dr. Mathur conducted necessary tests, which revealed tumors in her ovaries, abdomen, and lower abdomen. Following the diagnosis, Dr. Mathur advised the family to undergo surgery.

After the family’s consent, Dr. Mayank Mathur and his team performed cytoreductive surgery (posterior pelvic exenteration) on the woman on April 19th. In this surgery, Dr. Mathur removed the tumors from the ovaries, part of the uterus, and lower abdomen, and connected the rectum and sigmoid colon. Cancer infection was also found in the abdominal fat membrane. Dr. Mathur stated that treatment of such complex cancers is possible only with the help of a specialist surgeon and an experienced team. He added that K.D. Hospital has all the technical facilities, specialized doctors, and technicians, making all types of surgeries and treatments possible. Dr. Mathur stated that Chandravati is feeling better after the surgery. She has been relieved of her unbearable stomach pain and is now eating.
