Associate Professor (Dr.) Shubham (MD Pulmonology and PDF Interventional Pulmonology) of K.D. Medical College-Hospital and Research Center was honored with the Rising Star Award at a three-day conference on pulmonology organized by the PACS Foundation at Radisson Blu, Kaushambi, Ghaziabad. The award was presented to her by renowned pulmonologist Dr. S.K. Jindal. Dr. Shubham is the first interventional pulmonologist from Mathura to receive the Rising Star Award.

Dr. Shubham highlighted the latest research, treatments, and technology on topics related to the lungs and respiratory system in the presence of expert pulmonologists from India and abroad during the three-day conference. Dr. Shubham shared his views on pulmonology, explaining that the respiratory system delivers oxygen to the human body and helps expel carbon dioxide. He explained that the lungs are a key organ of the respiratory system. Respiratory problems reduce the amount of oxygen reaching the lungs, leading to illness.

Dr. Shubham also shared his views on asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung cancer, pneumonia, and sleep apnea. He explained that the lungs are the powerhouse of the human respiratory system, working tirelessly every day. On average, each person breathes approximately 23,000 times per day. During each breath, our lungs filter waste and release oxygen into our bloodstream, which then reaches every cell in our body. He described bronchoscopy, thoracoscopy, and interventional techniques as extremely helpful in treating patients with respiratory problems. At this three-day conference, expert physicians from India and abroad shared their views on pulmonology, the treatment of lung diseases. At the conclusion of the conference, experts not only praised Dr. Shubham’s views on pulmonology but also honored him with the Rising Star Award.
